Pola penyebaran penyakit HIV/AIDS yang cenderung sporadis membuat penyakit ini makin sulit dicegah. Apalagi, penggunaan jarum suntik yang sembarangan menambah rentan kasus HIV?AIDS di kalangan remaja. Di Jakarta Timur saja, sejak Maret-Agustus 2008 teridentifikasi 56 kasus baru.
