Hi Kim
I'm new too so you're not alone! I know what you mean - we can both walk
without problems - in fact walking relieves my pain. I have had fusion at L5/S1
level nearly 3 years ago and whilst I did have some unilateral sacroiliac pain
and couldn't sit before the op, I feel that I was diagnosed incorrectly and have
finished up worse than before. After fusion my metalwork was taken out after a
year (the surgeon thought it was an irritation) it is now chronic and after
injections, physio, chiropractic, have seen a surgeon for surgical release in
the UK. Where are you?
There's not enough info out there, especially surgeons interested in this in the
UK. At least that's my experience so the more we communicate in group, so much
the better.
Jo

Subject: [Piriformis syndrome] new member
Hi, I'm new. I've noticed that no one has been posting lately, so I
guess I'll finally jump in. I've been trying to read thru the other
posts, and it's been very helpful.
I hope others will post, so that I can pick up some more recent
information or hear about others' experiences. All I know is that
it's depressing when no one knows what the piriformis muscle is (or
even cares to learn about it) and they can't understand why you are
in pain if you can walk.
