Thank you for all the feed back. It's sometimes hard to explain
everything that has taken place in the last three years without
writing a novel. Sometimes I leave out things or treatments explored.

Mary: I to am concerned regarding the removal of the piriformis
muscle. Therefore I'm seeking a second opinion to discuss surgical
options. I have already spend thousands of dollars on pt with
different clinics/people specializing in hip/pelvic issues. Only to
have them also recommend surgery.

Since my quality of life is greatly affected by foot drop, permanent
nerve damage in my lower leg and foot, a well, as on going chronic
pain . Which comes on strong every time the botox wears off and
drugs are not taken.

This drama has been going on for over 3 1/2 years. Pretty much every
conventional option has been explored. I feel I have no other choice
at this point if I want to try to lead a more "normal" life. I have
not been able to work for the last 2 years when my leg was paralyzed
for a month. "It's believed nn injections caused this" Ever since
then I can't sit at great length nor can I stand in one place for
long.

I will keep you posted to what I decide on I appreciate your thoughtS.

James: You are right the x-ray machine does not show soft tissue.
It was the dye injected for placing of the fluoroscopic needle that
made the nerve show up on the computer x-ray screen. Made for a neat
picture for the scrapbook -- Not!! Please keep us posted as to the
out come your doctor visit.

Take care, Carol
