Re: [Piriformis syndrome] Neuro Visit

Hi Carol, I was not aware that an x ray would show the
placement of the sciatic nerve in relationship to the
piriformis muscle. I thought x rays did not show soft
tissue. No specialist I ever saw said an x ray would
be of any use whatsoever in determining the cause of
the sciatic nerve irritation. I feel some improvement
in the sciatic pain above the knee, no improvement
below the knee. I would say I am 30% better. I am
seeing anm orthopaedic surgeon in September. On the
last ultrasound I had there was some talk about a cyst
at the back of the knee. The knee is the next area
where the sciatic nerve could be getting trapped.
Hopefully they will find the cause of the nerve
irritation in September and another operation called
for. All for now, James.
