I finally have a date for Piriformis release surgery,
it is April 5th. I have been on a waiting list since
January 2003. I have been trying since January of 2001
to find the cause of my pain when sitting. At first I
had never heard of the sciatic nerve or the Piriformis
muscle. I had a multitude of neurological tests and
still no mention of Piriformis Syndrome.
I was starting to get very frustrated and got the
feeling the doctors were thinking I was making up my
condition. My leg goes on fire after sitting for about
ten minutes. I cannot even get comfortable in a
reclining chair. I have to stand all the time or lay
on my stomach. I know there are possible complications
and there is no guarantee of success but I have
decided to go for it anyway. My bad leg also had a
blood clot in 97 and can only get worse, never better.
I hope to keep all of you posted regarding my recovery
after the surgery. I wish you all well and cope as
well as you can with this condition. There are many
worse off than we are. Many thanks to the people of
this group who have informed and helped me.
