Re: [Piriformis syndrome] Anyone using Duragesic patch for PS?

James -- Thanks for the email. I now use Lidoderm. It helps some, but not
enough for sure. I've tried every med imaginable for many many years.
Neuro wants to put me on something much stronger, as I am in pain 24/7 now.
Yes, I 've tried Neuronton a few years back; helped minimally. Of
everything I have tried, the best thing that works for me is trigger point
injections. They're nasty, but I get relief immediately and can last at
least a few days giving those muscles around sciatic nerve time to stop
spasming. Yes, my leg burns, my butt burns, throbbing pain in butt,
numbness down leg, feet, big toe, sometimes pain feels like "rats gnawing"
on me. Pain can be sharp, throbbing, shooting, tingling, burning. How about
you? What's your story?

This Duragesic patch is a narcotic. At this rate, after trying everything
else, I'm willing to try anything (except surgery). I've seen emails where
some surgeries worked and some have not. Am too afraid to try it.

Have you done all your homework on the surgery? Am sure you have. What made
you finally decide to have it done?

Thanks again for answering me! Wishing you some pain free time. Maureen
