Hello everyone.. I have been a member of this group for about a year or two. I
have been a very active person most of my life. I am 43 years old and workout
for 20 years with free weights. As i started to age i still wanted to be active
so i started riding an eliptacle bike every other day. I started to get hip
pain but continued to fight through it. Then while at work i was working in a
tight area and was sitting in a 5 gal bucket not on top of the bucket but
sitting in the bucket so i didnt have to dump all the parts and tools out. That
was the start of very bad pain in my legs. For the next couple days it felt
like someone poured acid on my legs the pain was bad. This was three years ago
or so. Since then have seen numerous doctors and pt with no relief. I also had
surgery to my knee area due to a pinched nerve that showed up on an EMG. That
didnt help either but did take the pressure away from my calf area. Then i
started getting massages on my leg that did give me some temporary relief but
then came back. I believe my isssue is scar tissue near the sciatic or the
piriformiss is scarred from the repetive motion of the eliptical bike and then
sitting in the bucket. I then went to see a chiro that had some training in
ART. She worked on the area that was always bothering me on the outside of my
thigh just below my buttocks. This was VERY painfull to have worked over but
the relief is starting to come sometimes 4 to 5 days in a row instead of the
every day pain. I have had about 6 or 7 sessions and might be seeing light at
the end of the tunnel. I continue to stretch and work that area to hopefully
rebuild and reverse the scar tissue damage. I just want to share my experience
with everyone on here. There is hope dont give up and by all means explore this
technique if this seems like a similiar problem. I know how it feels to be
stripped of your active life. Hope this helps someone.. thanks Todd
