Hi sue and welcome to the group. I hope you find some useful information here. I admire ambition to read all the previous posts. During the early years, there were almost no successful cases. Fortunately, things have progressed since then.
If you really have PS, your chiro's treatment is unlikely to help. Better to spend the money on ART (Active Release Technique), which is also done by chiros who have with special training. See
www.activerelease.com/providerSearch.asp
If possible, see a certified practioner who is also an instructor in the method. Otherwise, choose someone who has the completed the most courses.
PS can be hard to diagnose. Patients often spend a lot of time having tests to exclude other causes as the source of the pain. So if you have limited health insurance, soft tissue work like ART or Myofascial release can be a more direct route to pain relief than the merry go round of testing and injections.
But we recently had a member who's PT thought he had PS. So he did the PT stuff without benefit. Than he had an MRI & found out it was a spinal problem & he got great benefit from a cortisone injection.
So good luck, Mary
