Welcome to the group. I hope we can be of some help to you. Several members have SI problems. The standard treatments for SIJD are injections, PT, chiro, drugs, soft tissue work, or Radio Frequency Abaltion (RFA). RFA does stop the pain for awhile, but the pain returns when the nerves recover. It is a pain treatment - but does nothing to fix the cause of the problem.
I had SIJD for years. Advanced soft tissue bodywork including Integrative Manual Therapy fixed the problem.
What was your injury? I guess the biggest question is "was there an actually injury to the SI joint or is the joint misalignment caused by muscle imbalances in the pelvis.?"
If the problem is caused by muscle imbalance, then soft tissue work, like ART
or IMT & rebalancing the muscles/pelvis might work. Is your chiro trained in ART?
If there is an injury directly to the SI joint, then I'm not sure how they treat it., Mary
