Epidural Injections   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2128 of 2540 |
In the last 3 months I have had 3 epidural injections for what was Dx'd as
spinal stenosis
causing radiating sciatic pain.

The relief to date has been considerable and I hope it lasts. Sometimes it
does, sometimes
it doesn't. I have several friends who have had several years of complete
relief and I jnow 1
guy who got significant relief after 1 injection.

I only wish I had done this years ago as I suffered with this awful pain and
hobbling around
thinking stretching, exercises and other interventions would help, none of which
did
anything meaningful.

The injection is very quick and though there may be sensations of burning or
pressure it
only lasts a few seconds and you leave the pain center as though nothing
happened. Some
people opt for a short-lasting anesthetic but I can't see why one would need it
but that's a
personal decision of course.
