Orthopedists have given me numerous Dxs over the years and treatments like cortisone, NSAIDS or P.T..  I have heard about trigger point therapy and other such approaches but was never told that sitting for any extended peiod of time can exacerbate this pain.

For the last few months I have been doing all of my computer work while standing and have had a 75% diminution in sciatic pain.  I use a TENS unit with a lumbar electrode with placement at L4-L5 and have had dramatic relief from pain.  I have my own TENS business by the way but this is no way meant as a solicitation.  The fact is that in many cases they can be dramatically effective.  The point I'm getting at is that neither recommendations (not sitting, TENS) were made by M.D.s or P.T.s.
