re: Can't find help anywhere

Hello Darren. Since you went to the Cleveland Clinic,
former home of the prolific Piriformis Release
surgeon, Dr. Henry Bohlman, we have to assume you do
not have Piriformis Syndrome. Otherwise, they would
have happily operated on you.

As I told you in Nov. (message #1373) "Most doctors
but especially orthopods are terrible at dealing with
this kind of problem. They misdiagnose & then the PT
has to treat the non existent misdiagnosis
& not the real problem."

Since you have normal test results and the doctors
don't know what is wrong, it is more likely you have
some kind of muscle imbalance &/or soft tissue problem
that MDs & most PTs are not taught about.

I can give the names of two possible resources in FL,
each using different manual techniques. I suggest you
call or write them, describing your problem & ask if
they can recommend a therapist in your area.

The first is CenterIMT Jacksonville. See
http://www.centerimt.com/Jacksonville/Jacksonville.htm
to get contact information.

The other is The Upledger Institute. I'm guessing you
would benefit more from Viseral Manipulation or
Mechanical Link therapy more than CranioSacral
Therapy. Maybe you could find a PT with a lot of
training in all the techniques. Go to

http://www.upledger.com/therapies/default.htm

for information on the different therapies. Go to

http://www.iahp.com/pages/search/index.php

to find therapist in your area. Pick the ones with the
most training.

In the meantime, stay out of kayaks & avoid long
drives in the car. The accelerator foot is flexed for
long periods, resulting in the tightening of the
piriformis muscle.

If you try any of the therapies mentioned above,
please come back to this group and give us feedback
about what did and didn't work. We need the input, so
we can provide useful information to other members.

I hope you can find some help. Best wishes. Mary
