Re: [Piriformis syndrome] Could my symptoms be piriformis?

Hi,

I had piriformis syndrome for more than 3 years, I was not diagnosed properly in
my first year and had piriformis tendinitis eventually; it was very painful.
Finally with my own effort I got the right diagnosis and having treatment for
two years, my sciatica is not tight anymore which is great, but because of
cortisone and botox injections into my muscle my left hip joint developed
arthritis I used Cerasomal-cis-9-cetylmyristoleate (CMO) check out
www.bestcmo.com. Or HTN's Joint HealthT
90 caplets, Code 1137, Retail Price: $68.50 (New low price)
(U.S. patent 4568547)
A non-toxic Natural Oral Alternative Dietary Supplement.
Many years of clinical use have demonstrated that LignisulT MSM,
CMOT(cerasomal-cis- 9-cetylmyristoleate) and Glucosamine are ingredients
designed to protect and support joints, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, muscles,
connective tissues, bones and are often effective for joint injury. Combined
with the Pak-of-Life Plus More these are the best products for athletes to help
prevent future joint damage or for anyone who already has joint damage caused by
aging and/or exercise.

It is totally natural and helps with all kind of autoimmune disorders. Your
complaints sound more like beginning of Ankylosing spondylitis, probably you
are checked already, still whatever the name CMO is the only product that cures.
All the rest just eases the symptoms. Also glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM help
to maintain and heal your joints, but if your auto-immune system is not
corrected chronic pain does not go away. I have been checked for so many things
before I diagnosed myself piriformis and tried so many methods ( oesteopaths,
chripiractors, yoga, feldenkrais, alexander technique...) had to learn all
related pains before getting the right treatment. In the beginning my blood
tests and MRIs CT scans etc. showed nothing and I was so fit doctors did not
take my pains seriously. Unfortunately the main problem in this kind of pains
diagnosis comes after the illness developes and gets complicated. I recommend
anyone out there to try CMO before it is too late, I believe CMO also hepled
relieve my piriformis tightness. Piriformis Syndrome eventually runs the the
auto-immune system down. Anyone with sciatica pain also keep up with B vitamins
I guess it is neurobion(B1 B6 and B12) in US. CMO is also curing Fibromyalgia;
and after three months of chronic pain many people develop fibromyalgia. Using
pain killers and autoimmune systen suppressant drugs just harm your body more. I
am recommending this strongly because I am so happy to be free of painkillers
finally, I wish you the same.

Take Care Everyone, Nilgun

PS:Some notes on how CMO works, I found in the net, there is a lot more about
how people got well if you wish to read. It is not related to Priformis Syndrome
yet because PS is just for a few very special people I believe.

Hi Ron,

Cerasomal-cis-9-cetylmyristoleate is an extract from the fatty tissue of beef.
It is a substance that the body uses to communicate with certain factors within
the immune system. When an immune system is deficient in this compound, the
immune sytem can miscalculate and respond to substances which are not harmful to
the body.

There is a type of communication taking place, but not the same communication
taking place with tranfer factor. There is two types of chemical messengers
involved in immune system functions. Let me give you an analogy. Through a
telephone you can communicate a message. You have the mechanical factors
involved in the communication such as wires, electrical components and other
physical factors. Also, you have the actual message that travels through the
mechanical devises.

If a mechanical componant is defective or missing, your message cannot be
delivered. The mechanical component is compared to
Cerasomal-cis-9-cetylmyristoleate.

Another analogy would be the thought traveling through our mind. The mind,
inpart uses acetyl-choline and dopa, to express a thought. It is not the actual
thought but a chemical used to express the thought.

When you consume this substance, you provide the immune system with a physical
substance which is used to deliver a message. It is not the message itself but
the substance through which the message is delivered.

Transfer Factor is the actual message. Each transfer factor contains a message.
Transfer factors are actually a soup of transfer factors. The immune system
through transfer factors are capable of containing (it is estimated) more than a
100 million messages.

Cerasomal-cis-9-cetylmyristoleate can be useful. It cannot carry chemical
messages identifying antigens. It is a chemical used in modulating the immune
system. Transfer factor modulates the immune system by identifying the problem
and sending a message to the inducers to induce or to the suppressors to
suppress.

These factors are not actually in competition with one another.

Autoimmune Disorders
When the memory T-cells are misdirected an autoimmune disorder follows.
Now, one of the most exciting discoveries of our time has been developed by Dr.
Len Sands of the San Diego International Immunological Center.

By John Nitkowski researcher and nutritionist {1}

There are many people living with autoimmune diseases and the numbers are
greatly increasing. Autoimmune diseases may take many forms. Here are some of
them:

· Multiple Sclerosis is present when the immune system attacks the nerve
tissues of the central nervous system, destroying the myelin which can cause (in
its extreme cases) blindness, paralysis, and even an early death. It is,
however, usually capable of severe disability.

a.. Rheumatoid Arthritis exists when joint linings are directly affected,
causing pain, swelling and stiffness of the joints. The joints can become
severely malformed.
b.. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (such as Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis) -
results when the immune systems attacks the intestinal areas, causing pain,
diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal cramps.
c.. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus - usually exhibits itself with extreme
fatigue, rashes and joint pain. A rash on the cheeks across the bridge of the
nose is very common. Major organs may also be affected, causing severe problems
for the kidneys, brain, or lungs.
d.. Psoriasis (and some other skin disorders) - affect the skin, and sometimes
the eyes, nails, and joints.
e.. Scleroderma - exists when the skin and blood vessels begin to thicken.
Raynaud's Syndrome (severe cold in fingers and toes) is very often also present.
Symptoms may include sensitivity of fingers and toes to the cold, skin color
changes, pain, and sometimes ulcers of the fingertips or toes.
f.. Fibromyalgia - symptoms includes severe fatigue, overall body aches and
pains, sleep disorders, stiffness of body joints, headaches, memory and
concentration problems, fluid retention, intestinal problems, and other mixed
symptoms. There are usually several "tender points" scattered throughout the
body which, when pressure is applied, can cause a person VERY severe pain, even
causing them to double over. These tender points are often a major determining
factor in diagnosing Fibromyalgia.
g.. Sjogren's Syndrome - is a condition affecting the body's fluid-producing
glands. These glands can reduce their fluid output, and even finally run dry,
causing a person to suffer from dry eyes, dry mouth, and dry skin. Sometimes
sore and aching muscles, extreme fatigue, and other autoimmune and connective
tissue diseases will develop.
h.. Diabetes -Some diabetes is caused by an autoimmune attack on the islet
cells of the pancreas reducing the quantity of insulin released into the blood.
i.. ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and AIDS - are both massive autoimmune
diseases that eventually destroy the whole body.
What is common with all these diseases is that they have the same cause. There
are other factors that modify the effects of the disease but the cause is the
same. In all forms of treatment expediency is a must. If you have an autoimmune
disease, you don't want to wait even one more day before you do something about
it. The key is to do the right thing.

{2}This example of the autoimmune process is obviously very simplified. The
general health of a person and any vitamin, mineral, enzyme, beneficial
bacteria, etc., deficiency is going to play a role in all of these processes. I
would first like to explain some of the parts of the immune system.

All the cells of the immune system are derived from stem cells in the bone
marrow. The bone marrow is the site of origin of red blood cells, white cells
(including lymphocytes and macrophages), and platelets. In the thymus gland
lymphoid cells undergo a process of maturation and education prior to release
into the circulation. This process allows the lymphocyte T-cells to develop the
important attribute known as self-tolerance. That is, the T-cells are learning
to recognize and tolerate "self", not meaning the T-cells themselves, but "self"
meaning any cell that is part of your body !

So, it is obvious to see that the thymus gland is a place for a potential
problem to develop with the memory T-cells, and although the memory T-cell is
the main focus of this topic, I'm going to ignore that problem for the moment.

Injuries, infections, and wear can affect the conditions of our bodies. An
injury could be a fall, an automobile crash, or a sports injury. An infection
can be rheumatic fever or any virus or bacteria, or it could come from an
internal parasite. Wear can come from being overweight, excessive use from
sports such as tennis, basketball, or golf, or it can be work related, such as
the overuse of keyboards or jackhammers. Keep in mind that the twisting of the
knee, one time, can cause arthritis to develop many years later, even after the
injury is completely healed!

The injury, infection, or wear can cause some small part of the body to
dislodge, perhaps the myelin surrounding the nerve or perhaps some cartilage,
certainly very small particles. Here is where the process starts. Macrophages of
the immune system begin the clean-up process. White blood cells are the mainstay
of the immune system. The white blood cells known as macrophages, play a
function in innate immunity by surrounding, ingesting, and destroying invading
bacteria and other foreign organisms in a process called phagocytosis
(literally, "cell eating"), which is part of the inflammatory reaction. These
macrophages consume the broken off particles and report their activities to the
memory T-cells!

The dormant (sleeping) memory T-cells activate and develop an aggressive cleanup
program. The problem is the program may not distinguish between healthy and
damaged tissue. The increased T-cell activity stimulates more macrophage
activity which in turn stimulates more memory T-cell activity, and a system of
self destruction has begun.

This can take years before any noticeable effects are seen or felt. The
initiating factor, the injury, infection, or wear may have disappeared years
ago. There may be no evidence of a degenerative disease because not enough
material has been destroyed by this process to show any symptoms. Usually, in
people I know, arthritis usually sets in, almost in every case, ten years after
a surgery or injury. Because it gradually happens over a long time, people
usually learn to ignore it until it becomes unbearable. Once you acquire
knowledge, waiting is absolutely the worst thing you can do! Why should you let
yourself deteriorate MORE before you decide to do something? That would be like
letting your house burn down some more. You stop it as soon as you can. You can
get a new house, but you can't get a new body. An autoimmune disease is
self-propagating. It no longer depends on the initiating factor to keep it
going. As I said, that may have completely healed years ago. It keeps going.

This process is exacerbated by the fact that the mechanism that is supposed to
deactivate the memory T-cells when they have completed their mission fails to
respond or work properly. So there are an abundance of memory T-cells directing
the macrophages to search the body for more material to consume. The immune
system is totally out of control, massive destruction begins, and early symptoms
of pain and inflammation appear.

The destruction will accelerate. Symptoms will become more severe. Pain,
inflammation, and joint deformity appear at new sites as they suffer macrophage
attacks. This is degenerative disease. Medications may take away the pain
temporarily but they can't stop the body's process. The body is just doing what
it thinks it should be doing. Even natural ways of dealing with the pain and
inflammation do not stop the process. Strengthening the immune system may
actually strengthen the disease. Taking conventional medications take their toll
on the kidneys, liver, and heart, but that does not stop the process. Using
products, natural or conventional, that merely treat the perceived symptoms of
an autoimmune disease deceives you because the deterioration continues. You just
can't feel it or notice it anymore.

The more knowledgeable modern physicians in the recent years used products
called immunomodulators to correct the autoimmune problem. The only problem was
that the immunomodulators were not really immunomodulators, but they were really
immunostimulants, or immunosuppressants. These natural or synthetic substances
can only produce one effect each, either to stimulate or suppress the immune
system. A true immunomodulator would have the ability to correct the defect in
the memory T-cell permanently! I hope you see the good news in this. If you are
using immunostimulants or immunosuppressants as part of your autoimmune plan you
will have to use them til the day you die. If you are at the early stages they
may seem to cure the disease because they take care of all your symptoms. That
is the deception.

Here is the good news, one of the most exciting discovery of our time. I was
very excited about it when I first heard about it. This discovery is called the
world's first, and presently only, true adaptogenic autoimmune immunomodulator.

It was developed by Dr. Len Sands at the San Diego International Immunological
Center. It is called CMO T (cerasomal-cis-9-cetylmyristoleate). Because this
product can permanently correct the defects in the memory T-cells you don't have
to continue using it for the rest of your life, although you may want to use a
small maintenance dosage because if you have had an autoimmune disorder, you may
also be genetically susceptible to another one.

CMOT is the world's first and only true Adaptogenic autoimmune immunomodulator.
{3}
Following is some of the material from Dr. Sands report:

Only CMOT has corrective and restorative immunomodulatory properties for
autoimmune diseases, especially when enhanced with support ingredients and the
recommended support products. Other so-called immunomodulators do not. They
function primarily as immunosuppressants, or immunostimulants. They are capable
of only one principle action, either suppressing or stimulating immune function.
CMOT, on the other hand, helps to correct autoimmune programs within the memory
T-cells themselves, rather than just suppressing or stimulating immune system
activities.

CMO is neither an immunosuppressant nor an immunostimulant. It is also not a
pharmaceutical It is a naturally derived substance (from naturally associated
bovine fatty acids) that has received the highest safety level attainable by
certified independent laboratory LD-50 testing. NOTE: Authentic CMOT cannot be
derived from vegetable or plant sources.

Some practitioners have theorized that, in the case of arthritis, for example,
CMOT merely acts upon the pain receptors at the arthritic site. If that were so,
their theory cannot explain why CMOT has the following effects on:

a.. how it benefits virtually any and all ailments associated with autoimmune
diseases,
b.. or how it lowers blood sedimentation rates in Lupus patients,
c.. of how it relieves certain symptoms of multiple sclerosis,
d.. or how it reverses lung inflammation in emphysema,
e.. or how it lowers the need for insulin in diabetics,
f.. or how it reverses prostate inflammation,
g.. or how it corrects Crohn's disease,
h.. or how it reverses fibromyalgia,
i.. or how it improves the health of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) patients,
j.. or how it lowers high blood pressure, yet elevates low blood pressure.
k.. [ M.S. "..have had big triumphs as well...'have gotten people out of their
wheel chairs. " Chronic Progressive M.S.. "have had success with about 60% of
patients."]{4}
Obviously, CMOT is a general remedial immunomodulator that acts upon the memory
T-cells, which control the autoimmune processes within our bodies. Those who
speculate otherwise have misunderstood the biophysiological actions of CMOT
within the body.

It is also important to understand that CMOT acts only upon memory T-cells and
does not inhibit the activities of any of the several other types of T-cells
that are responsible for combating infective microorganisms or invading
substances.

Unlike the immunosuppressants commonly used to try to temporarily control the
symptoms of autoimmune diseases, CMOT does not leave the body vulnerable to
attack by disease-causing agents. Nor does it inhibit the body's resistance to
tumor formation, as do the dangerous new necrosis factor (TNF) suppressants of
some new arthritis drugs.

Other Rheumatic Conditions

Over 100 different disorders can be classified as arthritis. Some can affect 1
or more joints, whereas others have their most significant effects on other
parts of the body. More detailed information on these disorders is available at
the Arthritis Foundation Web site. Listed here are some of the other most common
arthritic conditions:

a.. Ankylosing spondylitis
b.. Bursitis
c.. Fibromyalgia
d.. Gout
e.. Infectious arthritis
f.. Psoriatic arthritis
g.. Reactive arthritis
h.. Scleroderma
i.. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
j.. Tendonitis (tendinitis)
If you think that you or someone you care for may have a rheumatic condition,
see a doctor.

Ankylosing spondylitis
This condition primarily affects the spine, but it may also cause arthritis in
the hips, shoulders, and knees. The tendons and ligaments around the bones and
joints in the spine become inflamed. Symptoms include pain and stiffness,
especially in the lower back. Ankylosing spondylitis tends to develop during
late adolescence or early adulthood. The Spondylitis Association of America is a
good source for more information on this condition.

Bursitis
Bursitis involves inflammation of the bursae, which are small, fluid-filled
sacs that help reduce friction between bones and other moving structures in
joints. The inflammation may result from arthritis in the joint, or from injury
or infection of the bursae. Symptoms include pain, tenderness, and limited
movement of the involved joint.

Fibromyalgia
This chronic syndrome is associated with pain and stiffness throughout the
tissues that support and move the bones and joints. Pain and localized tender
points occur in the muscles and tendons, particularly those of the neck, spine,
shoulders, and hips. Other common symptoms include widespread pain, fatigue, and
sleep disturbances. Learn more about fibromyalgia from the Fibromyalgia Network.

Gout
Gout results from deposits of needle-like crystals of uric acid in the
connective tissue near joints and/or in the joint space. Symptoms include
inflammation, swelling, and pain in the affected joint, often the big toe.

Infectious arthritis
In some cases, arthritis can develop as part of a bacterial or viral
infection. If a bacterial infection is involved, early diagnosis and treatment
with antibiotics may relieve the arthritis symptoms and cure the disease.

Psoriatic arthritis
This condition occurs in some patients with psoriasis, a common scaling skin
disorder. Psoriatic arthritis often affects the joints at the ends of the
fingers and causes changes in the fingernails and toenails.

Reactive arthritis
Reactive arthritis can develop after an infection of the lower urinary tract,
intestines, or other organs. It is commonly associated with eye problems, skin
rashes, and mouth sores.

Scleroderma
Also known as systemic sclerosis, scleroderma means hard skin. Scleroderma is
an autoimmune disease that almost always affects the skin, blood vessels, and
joints. A more serious form also affects internal organs such as the lungs and
kidneys. In scleroderma patients, there is an excessive production of collagen
(a fiber-like protein) in the involved areas of skin or internal organs. For
more information, visit the Scleroderma Foundation Web site.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
Also known as lupus, SLE is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system
harms the body's cells and tissues. This can result in inflammation and damage
to the joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, or brain. Visit the
Lupus Foundation of America Web site to learn more.

Tendonitis (tendinitis)
This condition refers to inflammation of tendons (tough cords of tissue that
connect muscle to bone) caused by overuse, injury, or arthritis-producing
conditions. Symptoms include pain, tenderness, and restricted movement of nearby
joints.
