I have got a reply from a piriformis patient who had successful surgery

I have had WONDERFUL success . The Doctor is right here in Antwerp, Belgium.
He had to do 3 surgeries on me. On the first one he found 12 fibroid tumors on
the left side pushing against my sciatic nerve, the second he found near the
same on my right side, then one more near where your leg and bottom meet. I am
now doing back exercises. The recoup time has been minimal. They have had me on
MANY opiate based pain killers, that now I have to get off of but am doing quite
well at that.

He is THE best, and is so understanding of this problem. He even had another
surgeon in with him to observe who didn't believe this really existed, but after
what he saw.he is NOW a believer.
