Hi Libertycatz:
So glad to hear about your surgery. I have an appointment in May in
Minnesota to hopefully become a candidate. I'm a female, 40, -13 in the
right eye, and -11 in the left, but with significant astigmatism. I'd be
interested in hearing about your healing with the astigmatism. I will
also check out the undercorrection, as I currently have great near
vision, like Mike.
Please keep us updated. I understand what you mean about having lenses
inserted, rather than looking through them. I think that would be a huge
adjustment..I continually play with my glasses to kind of adjust vision.
Would be weird to me to not have that capability, to not be looking
"through" something.
Thanks,
Jean

Hi Everyone.. I am new too this-recent ICL visian implants March 13-
07/and April 3-07. I've been considered legally blind since the age
of 5 yrs. now 34. My right eye was the dominant one; corrected -12.0
too 20/20 post op-varying from 20/15-20/35 just depends on what
second I am looking at the eye chart! Left eye corrected from -10.5
doing VERY well pretty great clarity 90% of the time; except when
first waking up (and / or if it feels dry!). It was however under-
corrected on -purpose (my choice) so that I can have better vision
for reading/and close up work. It was 20/75 post op day one-and
yesterday 2060. However; the near vision is Excellent with it-and the
distance vision is Excellent with the other-Cannot tell-they are
different-except if I cover one eye and view the same object/focus
the same place with the other. ALSO- I had astigmatism -pushing the
limits on this; but had LR bi laterally- also done during the implant
procedure. I was told too expect-3 mos-before this is healed enough
too "see if" the astigmatism is corrected enough. (the anticipate one
or both might need a touch-up-in that area we should know NLT 1 yr
post op and sometimes sooner).. Over all I am VERY HAPPY with being
able too find the shampoo bottle and have not had any major problems
with double vision/or night driving; but the light-is-taking time too
adjust too! It can be somewhat aggravating too focus clearly at
moments with the clarity somewhat different; viewing the world with a
lense on my eye -than with glasses or contacts. I have not had dry
eyes yet using systane -in between post -op drops seems too make a
BIG difference. Thinking about adding a gel drop at night has anyone
tried that or has it helped anyone else? My eye pressure has changed
from 12 in the left eye too 18 and the other one from 18 too 23; but
I hear these numbers vary a great deal -kinda like pulse/or BP. Has
anyone else been told that after LR for astigmatism it takes that bit
of time too confirm results? Anyway Appreciate the inPut!
