Re: [piolusers] Re: New Member, Considering the Visian ICL

I should clarify I had my YAG done on the same day. I think that's standard.
Nancy, you describe my almost exact same reaction to the YAG. Also stock up on
your painkiller of choice. My surgery was almost one year ago and the memories
of it are coming back. I am so thankful to have it behind me. I was scared. But
I'm incredibly thankful I had it done. I cannot believe the difference in my
life.

Another evangelical for PIOL I guess. Please don't let them discover any long
term problems with this!!!

### Good luck, Josh. I had both of my YAG procedures done on the same day.
Ask your doctor about using artificial tears following your YAG. If they
agree, buy it in advance of your procedure and have it on standby. I
relied heavily on my little bottle of tears following my procedure. I have
severe dry eye (I had it BEFORE the procedures), and the YAG just made my
eyes feel like they were full of sand afterwards. Couldn't really even open
my eyes comfortably for at least 24 hours.

While I was pretty much back to normal after the second day, I did still
have some pain in the 3 or 4 days following. Sudden changes in light levels
caused a lot of pain. I had tickets to a concert two days after my YAGs and
while I was able to drive there and walk about just fine, I had to keep my
eyes shut during the show because of the swirling spotlights. Literally, I
sat there with my head down and my hand shielding my eyes.

But that's me. Your experience may be totally different.

Again, good luck!
Nancy
