Hey Shelley!
I had my YAG on March 8th of 2008. I had the same thing immediately after my
surgery. It's like you are looking through hairs in your line of sight. They
move when you blink. It's the worst when you are in a dimly lit place looking
into a brighter place. Like in the garage looking outside... IT STINKS! I talked
to my Doc about it and he says it's just light coming in through the new holes.
He also said that my eyelids don't cover my YAG holes completely. He said it
would never go away. I have read that it will go away or lessen in several
months as your brain adjusts to the new holes. Mine hasn't changed at all
although I am getting used to it. I purchased some polarized sunglasses (Maui
Jim at the Sunglass Hut) thanks to some advice on here. They have helped A LOT.
Even with these annoying little lines, my surgery was a huge success! I am so
happy with my vision and LOVE not having to wear glasses or contacts.
BTW- After my YAG, I was scared to death to have the ICL surgery as the YAG was
very uncomfortable for me. The YAG was 1,000,000 times worse than the actual ICL
surgery. The ICL surgery was a breeze! OK... OK... .It may have been the fun
drugs Doc gave me before/during the ICL surgery, but regardless the YAG stunk
for me.
Hope this helps. Have a super day!
Jenny

Subject: [piolusers] YAG iridotomy
I had the yag iridotomy in both eyes 5 days ago. I currently see clear
lines that move up and down as I look toward light and blink. I was
wondering if others have experienced this disturbance. Can I expect
this to diminish or am I likely to adjust to it? Thanks in advance for
your help.
~Shelley
