Hi,

A quick update on my eyes.

Just to remind you, I started out with -18D and -16D. I have
a Visian in my left eye and a Verisyse in my right eye.
I also have an astigmatism in both eyes (2.5 and 2.0).
I'm about 5 months post-op now.

My vision in my right left eye is about 20/40 now and my right eye
is about 20/60. I saw my optometrist the other day, and he
was able to correct my left eye to 20/25 and my right eye to 20/40
using glasses to correct for the remaining astigmatism in my left
eye. It turns out that my right eye is over corrected by 2D.
The glasses corrected this and the astigmatism in that eye.

My night vision is still unacceptable. I get significant visual
artifacts in my left eye, which makes night driving impossible.
My right eye also gets visual artifacts, but only when the
pupil is completely dilated. I can completely control the
symptoms in my right eye with Alphagan, a drug that keeps the pupil
from dilating fully. The Alphagan mitigates the symptoms in my left
eye, but does no control them completely.

My close (reading) vision is ok. About the same as before the
operations with contact lenses. Interestingly, my near vision
is worse in my left eye when I ware my new glasses. I'm consulting
my optometrist as to the reason.

I still plan to replace the Visian lens in my left eye with a
Verisyse lens at some point. I've discussed repositioning or
replacing the Verisyse lens in my right eye, but he believes the
risks outweigh rewards.

....Ken
