Immortality will allow for the exploration of other
planets because travel-time over vast distances won't
matter.

Immortality is a choice that is available to anyone
and everyone. It is a philosophical position that
simply denies the necessity and the inevitability of
death. Remember: physical degeneration is not a
scientific fact about our cells, it is the result of
enduring physical and (for the most part)
psychological stress. The idea that "death is coming"
is one of the biggest stresses on the psyche of most
humans. Let it go.

This is conjecture. There is no reason to believe all
of that. Those claims are repeated to make death seem
less horrific.

Yours is a common but fallacious view. You neglect
the fact that bestowing immortality on humanity would
completely change our way of life. There would be no
more impatient grabbing for resources in the effort to
"get all one can in this short life before you die".

All our goals would change because our concept of life
would change from a finite thing to an infinite thing.
Sure we'd have to make adjustments (come up with
better, renewable resources, explore other planets,
etc.) But think about how much time and energy is
wasted in the meantime by holding onto your medieval
view of life/death.

Why do you desire physical immortality when such a thing has no purpose. If you could achieve such a thing, what good would it do? People will still procreate...
