I am the last person who is a racist. It is obviously hard for you to accept the
facts of life as they currently exists. It was muslims who attacked the olympics
in germany, It was muslims who hijacked a cruise liner and killed an american in
a wheel chair, it was muslims who have attacked numerous embassys across the
world, it was muslims who committed genocide in Kosovo, it was muslims who
attacked the world trade center --twice killing thousands, it is muslims who
routinely strap bombs on themselves to kill innocents in israel, it was a muslim
who attacked and killed fellow soldiers in iraq. It has been muslims who have
betrayed thier oath while in our military. Gee---do you see the pattern as to
why this is not a peaceful religion?? Again---If i have a Prejudice its against
people who are cold blooded killers in the name of thier god and not by any
race. Dont bother to exclude me from this group---i'm outta here on my
own--theres never any posts or communication anyway

Thanks David. My side affects on the 5FU was very mild. Just hope
this next round, which will be stronger, will have mercy on me as well.

Hi Sunny,

I found real aloe vera, not the aloe cream or gel etc. but the real thing which
I found at a health food store and confirmed was ok with my rad team helped
somewhat.

I would put it on gauze pads and put those on the affected areas and leave them
on under my clothes.

As I asked my wife, "You know what really burns my a##? Radiation!!"

Re your chemo, we are all different, but for me nausea was the worst side
effect. I guess I had them all except the mouth sores and they all get gradually
worse until chemo ends, but nausea really whipped me. If you get it treat it
agressively right away it is very difficult to relieve once it starts.

Good luck

I have just completed my radiation therapy and my first round of 5FU
chemo. I have rectal cancer and all the radiation was in the rear.
Now it is very sore and raw. Anyone know how to get a little more
comfort in this area besides pain meds? Any over the counter
medication that maybe would help during this healing process.

Another question, I will start my next round of chemo the 25th of
February. This will be 5 days out of each month, does anyone have
any idea about what I should expect? I've had my ostomy for 2 1/2
months and this seems to be doing ok. I just want an idea what more
to expect.

Thanks,
Sunny

Hi Kevin,
I say moderation is the key word. If you feel ok doing it, then it should be
ok. I think it makes some difference how old you are, and how old your stoma
is. Hernias for no reason at all are common in people with ostomies. Just be
careful, and you may want to contact your Dr.

Hi Joe

What are you trying to figure out how to do? If you want to chat - you can
go to the member list and find similar people (some list where they are
from and ages, etc). Email one of them or list on an open email your age,
location and interests and ask for someone to email you.

If you want to do anything else, ask and I'm sure someone would be able to
help you out. :)

Angel hugs

Tina

moves in your body), to lubricate the fecal material. After you
have your ileostomy surgery, the mucous continues to be secreted,
and it builds up, and needs to go somewhere. When people with a
normal bowel get older, the mucous that is secreted in their bowels
tends to be less, thus that is why your grandmother took a "physic"
(laxative), because her mucous production decreased when she got
older.

Hi Jennifer,
I can answer your question--- the same thing happened to me. Here is why:
before you were sick, your large bowel functioned in the normal way. Part of
that normal function is that there is a normal secretion of mucous that happens
during peristalsis (when the bowel moves in your body), to lubricate the fecal
material. After you have your ileostomy surgery, the mucous continues to be
secreted, and it builds up, and needs to go somewhere. When people with a
normal bowel get older, the mucous that is secreted in their bowels tends to be
less, thus that is why your grandmother took a "physic" (laxative), because her
mucous production decreased when she got older.

HI Jennifer,

I can definitely relate. I have had my ostomy almost 3 years. I get the mucus
you are talking about. It happens at no particular time period. I have gone
months or days in between a discharge. I once had it happen for a week straight
but normally it is usually a day or two. It seems to happen more when I get my
period. I can usually feel it before I have a problem. It is definitely a weird
feeling when you feel you have to go the bathroom. My gastro told me it was a
normal function and it was nothing to worry about. I will use a lite day
sanitary pad if it is heavy. It your menstrual cycle, it is actually more like
four ways.

I have to say it is still a lot better then anything I had in the past with my
crohns. Take Care.

Hi Molly,

You sounded soooooo funny.

Hope you will have a better time than I did! Never judge a book by
its cover and never let other influences you when you do not have
full facts. Sorry I had to say this as there is a nasty posting/e-
mail going around about me. Lot of people know me for what I am.
Thanks again for support.

Hope all goes well with your health and will be thinking of you.

From a good friend, Varsha.

Hi Jennifer,
You are certainly welcome. I think Kevin is right. It does sound like
a reaction to me. However, the last time I had a yeast infection it went
bonkers. I had thrush then too. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Hi Kevin,
It is so WONDERFUL to see you post again. I have missed you so much.
I hope that your life has been going well for you. Please e-mail me off the
list whenever the mood strikes you. It has been such a long time.

Good Night Everyone, I hope that each and every one of you have a good one.
Sincerely, Dawn :)
