What has worked for me for more than 25 years is to
apply a light coat of Tincture of Benzoin (Tincobin)
in the area covered by the skin barrier-----I
emphasize a light coat (more is not better).

I was getting a bad rash around mine and discovered
it was the tape connected to the barrier that I was
allergic to - it was a stomahesive tape.
I switched to the Durahesive from ConvaTec (Natura)
and haven't had problems since (knock on wood).
You can contact ConvaTec and request samples.
Good luck!

I am getting a sore skin surface I believe from the
adhesive and/or the stomapaste attaching the barrier.
Is this a common occurrance? Is there a medication for
this problem? Thank you.
