Re: [peoples with ostomy2] (unknown)

Hi Debbie,
Thank you very much for all of this information. My Urologist told me that
all my kidney stones are formed by infections. He did a twenty four hour urine
stone profile about two months ago, and showed no matter what I eat and drink,
this is not going to change. He does tell me to drink as much water as I can
but, has said nothing about the Calcium as this is obvioiusly not my problem
YET. I am sorry you have had to endure all of this too. Since I am completely
paralyzed and unable to pass these stones myself, my doctor has to perform a
major operation to go into the kidney to get the stone or stones. That is why I
have had twenty operations to date. Not all of them have been on the kidney but
quite a few have. Anyway, thank you so much for trying to help me. I hope you
have a very pleasant day. Sincerely, Dawn

Hi CRobin,
Thank you for the welcome. I have had my ostomy for many years. I am
almost thirty seven years old and I have had my ostomy since I was four. The
only real issue I have with it at the moment is my urologist says that I am
getting a lot of kidney infections due to having an ostomy. There is nothing
that can be done about this as I cannot be hooked up the regular way again. I
just asked him one day in his office, why did he think, I was getting so many
infection and subsequent kidney stones because of the infections and this is
what he said. That is one reason why I joined this group. I wanted to see if
anyone else was going through the same issues as I am. Anyway, other than that
I thank God for my ostomy. It saved my life. Thanks again for the welcome.
Sincerely, Dawn

Dawn;

welcome to the world of having made a transistion(ostomy), how long have you
had your ostomy ? I am now approaching my third year and have almost adjusted
to the reality that it is there. I hope your adjustment went well or is going
well, at any rate, hang on in there.

CRobin
