Hi Tina

I am not sure what the pain is, I have read others discuss it, and
the diahrea!!!! I have wasted so many wafers and pouches with the
diahrea. As soon as it starts I take antiacids to cut down on the
acid and I eat peanut butter to get rid of the diahrea, strange but
true. The pain I had in the rectal area I was told was my damaged
nerves coming back on line, it did not hurt for long, if it persists
seek medical advice. I wish I knew a doctor who had a ileostomy so
that he would know first hand what we describe and he would know
better (you would think) what it is we are describing. I had one
doctor tell me that it was all in my mind. Well, I ended up in the ER
with an abcessed liver. Boy did he look stupid in front of his peers
when he made rounds after I was admitted to the hospital.

Do you have a support group in your area? The ET nurse is a good
source also. I do nto know what to tell you about the weight lose, I
have gained :( I am sure it has to do with the diahrea. But onve
again, it is better to be safe than sorry.

Hang in there, you will survive this and pass on your wisdom to
others!

Acie
