Sorry about the late response here guys. I run a med
supply biz so I am not often in the groups. THIS sounds sooooo
familair to me when I had my ileostomy(had a reversal in january).I
would get hard stool/crystals but it was white and had alot of mucus
clumps, perhaps that is what yours is??? I too had lots of pain in my
rectum/sigmoid colon(left sided pain) I had a scope and biopsy and
they told me I had DIVIERSION COLITIS. This occurs when the colon and
rectum no longer recieve fatty acids from stool as they normally
would. I too did different enemas for relief. Even coconut oil. What
happened eventually before my reversal is they put me on SHORT CHAIN
FATTY ACID ENEMAS. Exepensive??YESSSSS But well worth it as far as
relief goes!! ANY KIND OF RECTAL/COLON PAIN WARRANTS A SCOPE AND
PERHAPS A BIOPSY ASAP!!! It can turn ulcerative!! The fatty acid
enemas will need to be done for at least six weeks maybe longer
depending on the condition. Also they can prescribe a colocort enema
which is the size of a fleets but gets into the left colon. Mine was
so severe plus the HUGE PARISTOMAL HARNIA it HAD to be reversed.
Luckily they fixed it cuz I now have 3 normal BMs a day with NO
enemas or laxatives as before the ostomy. HHHMMMM??? Perhaps the
ostomy in my case was unwarrented. I know one thing,NEVER AGAIN!!
Cancer, chrons nothin will make me get another stoma!!! I am not
surprised when people say they have problems like your's or
hernias.or skin ulcers. Not one bit!! But I AM WILLING to help anyone
here who is suffering and needs it:) Thats the reason I stayed.if
anyone wants to email me personally about ostomy concerns plz feel
free!!! My email is
