I was recently diagnosed with diversion colitis
and put on short chain fatty acid enemas. The problem(besides being
expensive)Is that they cause painful CRAMPING!! I am due to have a
take-down jan 10th,but am trying to at least be here for xmas for my
niece and nephew. The surgeon told me if the bleeding and pain do
not stop to get to him right away and have emergency surgery. He said
a reversal is the only way this will go away for good.I just want to
wait it out till jan 10th is all.The enemas take weeks to help and I
don't know what I can do to alliveate the severe pain as I am eating
ultram like m&ms!! The enemas are so painful that the DR gave me
some lidocaine to put in them!! And I have to use that awful
inflatable nozzle which also hurts like a son of a gun!! MAN WILL I
BE GLAD TO GET THIS SURGERY OVER WITH!!!!! I hate hospital stays!!
from 2-4 weeks they say to recover and be in the hospital!!My colon
has been bypassed for 2 years now but, according to a barium test i
just had(and screamed my way through!)My colon DOES have good tone
to it!! Also this stent that was put in my lower colon is NOT
helping the pain!!It is making me want to yank it out, because it
drives me nuts!! Any ideas anyone????? THANX JO
