STRICTURE IN ILEAL LOOP   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1422 of 1565 |
Hello fellow ostomates!! I was wondering if any of you have ever heard
of getting a stricture in the ileal loop as a coplication on ileostomy
surgery(NOT LOOP OSTOMY)? My GI dx me with a sticture in the loop
behind my stoma, which is 2" to the right and often requires manual
removal of stool(YUCK!!)with my finger to unblock it!! I had an
ileoscopy and small bowel study, which confimed the stricture was
causing the problem and NOT the hernia. He wants to place an
endoluminal ileal stent in this!! I looked up the side effects which
include-cramping after placement,possible perforation,stent migration,
necrosis of mucosa, bleeding, fistula. NICE ones right??LOL!! I am not a
good canidate for surgery, which is why he wants to place the stent. And
these are made of titanium mesh,so that it looks like a brillo pad!!
GREAT,what next? So I got a choice of putting up with pain from
blockage or pain from a foreign object!!(sorry to vent,I am discusted
with the whole thing!!) ANY ideas? email me:joakabridgefreak@...
