I have a severe case of diversion colitis and am to be using short
chain fatty acid enemas. The problem is my GI doesn't know the
correct mixture to rx!! and the stuff is VERY expensive and not
covered by medicare D! It has started bleeding, resulting in many
hospital stays(which is why I couldn't post untill now) I take ultram
and flexeril for the crippling pain, but never seem to make them last
the entire month. My surgeon refuses to either reverse the
ileostomy,or remove my colon. Currently I make my own version of the
enema with organic coconut oil and unsalted butter, which do contain
the missing fatty acids. This helps, but is hard to tolerate. I am so
ashamed of my body(with the HUGE hernia) I refuse to walk in public.
Instead I walk a desolate road by our river and pace the bridge!!
Since the 35w collapse,no one else walks across this bridge, due to
it's similar appearance! This way no one remarks on my bulging hernia
and I get peace and quiet. I have had the ostomy almost two years now
and still feel the postop depression. If you have any suggestions, my
email is: joakabridgefreak@...
