i am new here..hi;) i have a husband that is bipolar..we 'live' in
polk county and when we were living in lakeland he was a patient at
peace river, (as only our kids qualify for medicaid) a place where he
could see the doctors/and get 'sample' meds for a discount.

only one medication works for him, they've tried to put him on
cheaper meds..(or easier to get ones-don't work) which are the ones
that walmart/???name of that guy with the bus..none work. if he
doesn't get these specific meds, he will be on disability. we've
already tried.

anyways, peace river said we live on the outskirts of polk county so
no longer qualify, and reccommended another place, that won't take
him because he has no insurance, who reccommended another place that
doesn't take psychiatric patients, who reccommended-guess who- peace
river!! the same place that won't see him anywmore in the first place.

question: does anyone know a place that can help? sure, those
discount programs sound good, but if you can't see a doctor, what
good are they? plus, the 'main' med he needs (i think it's the anti-
psychotic) is not available through them.. he's considered just
vaceracting himself every month, then he can get the meds he needs.
if he's out longer then a day-he falls apart.

if anyone knows anyone that can help, please let us know. canada has
already been considered;) can't afford the move.
thanx, all help appreciated!
stacey
