Pediatric Brain Tumor - Who knows better what you are dealing with, than a parent of another child fighting the battle?
This list is for the discussion of all pediatric brain tumors, primarily by parents and immediate family.
We also welcome all medical professionals both involved in the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors(including but not limited to Pediatric Hematologists, Oncologists, and Neuro-psychologists, Child Life Associates and Social Workers).
We deal with the tough stuff head on. We laugh, we cry, we argue and vent together as we search for answers. How often have you seen a friend's eyes glaze over as you answer a simple question about treatment with just a bit more details than they are able to cope with?
To assist new members in connecting with others dealing with similar issues, we require a short introduction of one's interest in the group before approving membership. On approval an introduction will be made to the list.
(Some of the paediatric brain tumours addressed are Astrocytoma, Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid, Glioblastoma Multiforme, pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma, Craniopharyngioma, DIPG, Gangliocytoma, Ganglioglioma, Germinoma, Glioma, Medulloblastoma, Metastatic Brain Tumor, Neurocytoma, Oligodendroglioma, Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma, JPA, Pineocytoma, Pineoblastoma, PNET, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor, Teratoma, ependymoma, etc.) We are here to provide support and assistance with any kind of brain tumor in children.
From time to time we may permit medical professionals to utilize our message history for formal research purposes to hopefully facilitate the journey for those who follow us on this path. In that event, normal protocols of confidentiality will apply - the names of patients, physicians, and medical establishments will be removed from the data prior to publishing.
