Gerardie has been sized up for her leg brace on the 9th and now we are waiting
for them to be put on. My question is how do you stop a kid from jumping on
things like the bed which is like a trampoline and off steps which also causes
problems with her joints. She is lively and wants to do what she see the other
kids doing. Sometimes, she will tell them that she can't do that because it will
mess up her knees, then I look around and she is jumping off the step. The
doctor told us that her ankles, legs, and hip is showing problems and they want
to catch it fast so they would like for her to use the brace at night while she
sleeps and for her to start physical theraphy in school next year.
I finally found a tricycle that she can ride and now we have to keep her off of
that because it moves the hips and legs, the doctor didn't say this, I just feel
that since her hips and ankles are causing this problem and the bowing of her
legs which makes her walk on the side of her foot that riding her tricycle is
making it worst.
I also noticed that her head is getting larger but when I mentioned to Dr.
Rosenbaum that she is constantly falling, he told me that her legs, hips, and
the bowing is throwing her off. I know that since being on POLP2, we all know
that these things probably will happen, I just thought that it would happen
later than sooner. He advised me that her head is going to get larger as she
gets older and he doesn't see a problem since her last visit and her head is
basically the same size. I have to go now, Gerardie has caught a lighten bug
and wants to bring it in the house. I have to go and free the bug. So long.
