Cleaning the Britax marathon carseat cover does involve removing the seat from
the car and releasing the straps (as if you were going to adjust them for
height). Then you can work the cover off of the straps so you can wash it. I'm
not sure but you may be able to purchase another cover so you could swap one out
for the other and still have a carseat ready to go.
