Hi Alecia,
Sorry, I had given the information a while ago, but was afraid I would
sound like a broken record.
The booklet is called "Understanding Developmental Differences in Young Children
With Achondroplasia" The mailing address is: Midwest Regional Bone Dysplasia
Clinic
Clinical Genetic
Center
1500 Highland
Avenue, Room 333
University of
Wisconsin-Madison
Madison, WI
53705-2280
The phone number is 608-262-6228 and the email is MODAFF@WAISMAN,WISC.EDU
I have found this little booklet to be invaluable. When Steven was in pre-K, I
often referred the school PT tot the booklet. It was important to see what was
"normal" for our kids. They use alternative methods for a reason. They work
and are usually safer. It is fine that they do not do things the same way as an
AH child.
While you are at it, you may also want to purchase "Little People, Big Schools
Preparing the School for Your Young Child With Short Stature." The ordering
info is the same as above.
Take Care,
Jan
