Deal With Your Chronic Pain like a Warrior!
The warrior exists within all of us as a natural, archetypal element in the human psyche.
During difficult times, four defining characteristics stand out as especially important: Awareness, Bravery, Compassion, and Discipline the "ABCs" of living as a warrior. When we’re in pain, it’s easy to forget that there’s a warrior inside us who is up to the task that confronts us.
By looking inside courageously, you will find strength and resources you never imagined. It is easy to feel overwhelmed when you live with chronic pain. Every day life can be a struggle, seemingly impossible to overcome. You push yourself with every ounce of energy right down to your soul, and it feels like nothing is there. Simple activities that others take for granted can be a laborious undertaking
It is especially frustrating when family, friends and even doctors and nurses tell you that you should be feeling better, you are not trying hard enough, you are addicted to pain pills or that you are just a complainer. Exhausted, depressed and hurting, you just want to feel better. To take back control of your life, stay hopeful and keep moving forward.
This support group is about talking about pain, teaching about pain, learning about pain, touching pain, and learning coping mechanisms and skills as well as which medications work for which kind of pain. We are not health care professionals, but we suffer with chronic pain along with the rest of you.
