Please Help in Start-up Project: Special (ized) Courts for Disabi   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #670 of 857 |
Greetings Colleagues and Friends:

I am resuming a project in Court Access and Court Outcomes commenced a few years back.  It pertains to many on the lists to which I forward the request.

You can help in many ways so please write to ldmf@... with ANY and ALL ideas and copy here for those interested if on point.

I found one recurring citation to possibility of a dedicated Court for Disability matters, and you might search in your own ways and get back to us. Links, references, hints concerning related resources or questions etc.. you may have heard of.

Also helpful will be draft lists you can think of, of specialized courts in your area or elsewhere.  A *starter-set* is:

(for example) There exist civil courts, criminal courts, small claims courts, bakruptcy courts, maritime courts, (we hear) drug courts, mental (health?) courts, family courts ... and do you know of Disability Courts - internationally, nationally, locally? DO you have suggestions for study? Persons to contact?

Issues of disability are sensitive and demanding enough to have expert judges and juries with access to very intelligent proceedings and experts among whom as Persons with Disabilities.  But,  do you think along this line or otherwise?

Later, wIth sufficient interest, a discussion list will form.  There are of issues and aspects aplenty here, and the time is now and the people are present.

All input appreciated if on the topic.

Thank you,  L. D. Misek-Falkoff, Ph.D..
