Hi there and Yes, have experienced such programs lifelong, but there is concern about inferences that those without a perceived-as-healthy life always have a choice when they are absent. 
 
It's not a new issue, but it goes to enhancing informedness without suggesting prejudice. Here is a question - how to reward one group without punishing others or even inadvertently teaching destructive discrimination rather than helpful distinctions.

Just reminds me that schools, at least when I was in them, gave award [c]ertificates for the kid (kids) who had taken no sick days.
Pride in "wellness" is a longstanding held value.
