Subject: Senator Reid cites Civil Rights groups opposing 4 judicial nominees contested; 168 passed.

Greetings:

A further note, in  real-time:  Both as a footnote re process, and because Senator Reid has now alluded to civil rights groups opposing the 4 contest judicial nominees about whom, 30 hours of more discussion may take place later this week, this senatorial debate holds much interest for us, imho.  Reid points out that poverty, lack of insurance, and other domestic issues including education needs are not getting the same airtime as federal judicial appointments - especially concerning contested candidates..

As we know, these are lifetime appointments so that matter really is quite serious.  .

And sending best wishes, :) LDMF.

Subject: [DisabilityParty] If you can, please tune to CSPAN2 or CSPAN to witness the debate styles in play.

On the Senate floor, Senator Reid (Assistant Minority Leader) began speaking at 1:15 (marking time now as 8:06) to illustrate what he considers wasting time.  It is apparently a classic filibuster. We hear of rabbits, cactus, and how the town of Searchlight got its name.  Intermittently, the question of getting votes to the floor is discussed.  He reads from a book, reporting that a woman has asked in email that he read more slowly.

I post this not in regard to the judgeships being discussed, but rather just to relate that this is Americana in play, and very interesting if you can tune in .. and we can talk about the process and content anon.

Sending best wishes and promising some wit and humor is coming over the airways, :) LDMF. (Attempting to tape).
