Re: [pain-in-the-law] Re: ANOTHER SSD ARTICLE RALEIGH OBSERVER NEWSPAPER

LumbarLady:

I understand completely!  I waited over two years for my SSD to come through.  Thank heavens I have parents who were able to help out then I met a wonderful guy, who I eventually married, who made great money.  But, I often wondered how one gets by without being able to work, has no other means of support and then is put through the needless waiting, appeals, doctor appointments and lawyers.  My attorney told me they turn just about everyone down the first time hoping you "just go away."  Which is great for those that are "faking it" but for those of us, who their own doctors say are disabled, are being punished and brought to the brink of bankruptcy, it's just not uneccessary.   I've lived through the anger you feel and understand it quite well.  I spent many nights in tears dealing with the guilt of having a disability and having others have to pay my way.  I used to be a highly paid executive and was not used to being dependent financially on anyone.

So, hang in there as it will happen.  They just need to drive you to the brink of insanity first. (HaHa)

To all,

Another SSD article from the Raleigh, NC newspaper. There are more and more of these articles appearing nationwide. Looks like SSD will be major campaign issue.
Sound the horns; get the names on the petition; check large search engines for free posting space to link folks to petition (ask if they can do free since this is for folks who have just lost their last shirt waiting on their disability decision).

Linda, keep knocking on media doors. Right now I am in so much pain (radiating down back into my butt and leg - had MRI 6/26 - all three hernias bumpin' n' grindin' the thecal sac) that I would be willing to appear on Dr. Phil, Oprah, Dateline, 48 Hours, or the Mickey Mouse Club to tell America how pissed off I am that SSA is screwing up my life and everyone else's.

Sorry, having blind rage attack.

I need to go take a happy pill.

Lumbarlady
