We are seeking unbundled legal services for the trial portion of
litigation.
My great-grandparents built the gold rush era French Gulch Hotel
(Shasta County, California). Now we are being sued by the owners of
the hotel for water rights over property I inherited from my
grandmother. We have filed a counter suit. We had legal
representation in the early stages of the litigation (i.e., filing of
answer and counter-suit). However, we are both legally disabled and
receive disability income and as such we could not afford to come up
with another $5,000.00 as the law firm requested. If Plaintiff's
prevail we will most likely lose our home and our property will be
rendered worthless since they seek to have us relocate our mobile
home and septic system. There is no other location on our property
which would allow placement of our home and septic and remain within
county building code regulations.

Discovery is complete and we have fully researched our claim and our
legal rights. We simply want to keep the water rights which are
vested in our property.
