The Pagan Professional Counseling list is primarily for professional counselors who are Neo-Pagan (Wiccan, Druid, Asatru, etc.) or friendly towards & especially concerned with Neo-Pagan issues. Counselors of non-Abrahamic spiritualities whose issues overlap with Neo-Paganism (Santeria, Hindu, etc.) are also welcome. On rare occasion the moderator may approve a non-licensed person with interests & experience equal to other group members. Examples include a retiree, someone with a master's degree in counseling who used to have a license but now does pagan pastoral care, a hospital chaplain with years of experience, etc.

This list is meant for psychiatrists, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, school counselors, mental health counselors, social workers, creative arts therapists, and some other mental health professionals with secular counseling training. License preferred. Also – graduate students actively working towards licensure.

This list is designed as a forum to exchange ideas, information, and concerns about issues specific to working with Neo-Pagan clients and issues in which your status as a Neo-Pagan impacts your professional work.

We are a diverse group, representing many different paths and views. Topics including but not limited to pastoral care, counseling, training, legalities and leadership issues are discussed respectfully. We will discuss both secular counseling matters where Neo-Paganism impacts, as well as the development of Neo-Pagan pastoral counseling techniques. Political issues are discussed ONLY as is relevant to counseling.

We request that you send a brief introduction and biography to the list within seven days of being approved by the list moderator. You can include information concerning your training, chosen areas of expertise, level of experience,, and questions/interests for the list.
