At last week's meeting in Birmingham, Liam formally stood down as
trainee representative. It was decided that nominations would be
opened on the e-group and closed in time for a vote at the next
trainee meeting which will be in Glasgow 2006, in about 6 months
time.

At this stage, people can put themselves forward by emailing me
directly (rmlindley@...) or posting on the group. I
will close nominations a few weeks before the Glasgow meeting, so
there is no rush as yet.

Once nominations have been closed, and announced, those unable to
attend the meeting will be able to email their vote in advance. The
final result will be announced in Glasgow.

Current duties of the two trainee representatives include:

Sitting on BAPS council (x2/yr)
Sitting on SAC
Sitting on education and training commmittee (x3/yr)
Sitting on intercollegiate board
Sitting on ASIT council (x4/yr)
Representing views and concerns of trainees in paediatric surgery
Managing the Yahoo group and websites (BAPS - forthcoming) and ASIT

At the moment, some travel expenses can be reclaimed through BAPS
but not all.

Good luck!

Richard

Dear All,

Thanks to all of you who voted in Graz. I am Iain Yardley's replacement as your
representative.

I will be your voice on the SAC and BAPS commitees along with Clare.

For those of you who do not know me I am a year 3 SpR currently working in
Yorkhill in Glasgow. I will go to Edinburgh in August 2010 and all being well
should finish in late 2012.

This forum page will be the main route of communication that I will use. I will
try to keep people up to date with what is coming up in meetings and will seek
your opinions. Do not hesitate to let me know what you think about things. Also,
please encourage other trainees who are not signed up to this forum to join.

All the best
