Dear All,
By BAPS this year in June I will have been Trainee Rep for
two years and so will be standing down after the trainee's
meeting in Graz. It has been a pleasure to represent you
and I'm grateful to all those who have supported me in
doing so but it was always my intention to stay in post
for 2 years and then stand down.
The trainee reps attend BAPS executive meetings,
Paediatric surgery SAC meetings, ASiT Council meetings,
Exam board meetings, and BAPS Education committee meetings
plus other, more ad hoc, events. It requires probably the
equivalent of a session or so of time a week, sometimes
more and sometimes less but it is very rewarding and, done
well, it really can make a difference. Having 2 reps is
very helpful in terms of sharing the work load and in
supporting each other.
If any one who is interested in taking on the role could
let myself or Clare know then we can arrange an election
around the time of Graz. If you would like to discuss the
role then either of us would be happy to be contacted.
Clare will be staying on for the time being so there will
be continuity between reps.
Best wishes,
Iain
