As you may know, there is a new scheme of post-CCT fellowships
starting this year in Surgery. There have been two posts allocated to
Paediatric Surgery - a laparoscopic fellowship in GOSH, London and an
Oncology fellowship in Alder Hey, Liverpool.
These posts are open to trainees within 6 months of their CCT date
who hold an ENGLISH NTN (not including Welsh or Scottish).
The college are inviting people to apply for these fellowships by
personal invitiation, but we are concerned that their database of who
is finishing training may not be accurate.
So, if you are within 6 months of getting your CCT, and are
interested in either of these posts, please contact the following:
1. Martyn Coomer at the Royal College of Surgeons -
mcoomer@... /secretary on sking@...
2. Prof Paul Losty at Alder Hey - paul.losty@...
3. Mr Joe Curry at GOSH - CurryJ@...
If you could also let Iain or I know if you were contacted by the
college (correctly or not) or not contacted when you should have
been , that will help us get an idea of how effective this method of
job advertising is. As far as we know there are not going to be any
press adverts (e.g. BMJ) for these posts.
If you think this applies to any of your colleagues who are non on
this list please let them know.
Thank you,
Clare & Iain.
