Glasgow training day - -please attend!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #234 of 813 |

Apparently, not many people are registered for the training day.  It is important to keep attendence high at these events, otherwise we may lose them!  I have reproduced the registration document below, or you can download it from the files/meetings section.  Remember this is also your chance to vote for the new trainee representative!  This is a cheap meeting and the hotels are good value too (especially the last).  See you there, Richard

BAPS SpR Training Meeting

Glasgow 4th and 5th May, 2006

The Spring BAPS SpR training day will take place at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Yorkhill, Glasgow on Thursday 4th (starting at 1.30pm) and Friday 5th May, 2006 (finishing at 4pm).

Venue:                      DCH Lecture Theatre, RHSC, Yorkhill, Glasgow

Cost:                          £40.00 (Fee includes dinner on Thursday evening but not

drinks and teas and coffees during the meeting. Friday

lunch is not included but will be available from the

hospital cafeteria on the day.)

Accommodation:   A number of relatively cheap hotels and bed and breakfasts, which are close to the hospital, have been identified. See appended list for details. Accommodation should be booked directly with the Hotels and B&B's. Other hotels can be booked using commercial websites

e.g. Expedia.co.uk etc.

Dinner Thursday:  Café India (an excellent Indian restaurant near the hospital). The cost of the buffet meal is included in the fee but drinks are not.

The provisional programme will include sessions on antenatal diagnosis and counselling, paediatric urology, inflammatory bowel disease, a neonatal surgical topic, an update on the new paediatric surgical curriculum, a journal club session, a clinical radiology session, a clinical slide examination session and some case discussions. The final programme will be sent out with the joining instructions for the meeting.
