There have been a number of reports of SpRs and SHOs who have had
training opportunities taken away from them and given to a a trainee
surgical care practitioner.

Note that the Department of Health is very clear on this issue:

"Junior doctor training should not be compromised"

and this should be made clear on page 1 of the new curriculum
framework for SCPs.

So, if you are having trouble operating when a trainee SCP is about,
then I would suggest:

1. politely point out the above to your consultant and the SCP trainee
2. have a word with your programme director
3. let your regional rep or me know about it
