erythema toxicum Neonatorum:
only unusual thing here is: its uncommon in preterm infants.
in premats its delayed .
classically: in Ft NB; on day 2; firm yellow white,2 mm pustules
with surrounding erythema.
wide distribution is characteristic, except on palm n soles.
eosinophil filled pustules originating from deep epidermis.
diagnosis: Wright stain of fluid for eosinophils.
D/D:
pyodermas;

candidiosis

herpes simplex

subcut fat necrosis

transient neonatal pustular melanosis

miliaria


Other lesions that have eosinophilic infiltrate:

incontinentia pigmenti

eosinophilic pustular folliculosis
