I have had mild mitral valve prolapse all my life, with no symptoms that I
know of. I have to take antibiotics before dental procedures, but otherwise
no problems. For those with more serious forms of this condition valves can
be replaced. If your doctor has indicated that your condition is mild he is
unlikely to recommend something as drastic as surgery.
