Hello, everyone. This is my first post on this site.
I have had afib for about five years - full time until my ablation this
past February. Now it is about 50%, in and out in equal lengths of
time: sometimes a day and a day, sometimes a week and a week.
Docs say if it doesn't settle into NSR by August, they will repeat the
procedure, only in a somewhat different configuration.
I take dofetilide (125 mcgs) twice a day, also atenolol and digoxin.
I have had two major bleeds while on Coumadin, so docs restrict me to
aspirin.
As I was in afib all the time, I was not aware of how truly
debilitating it was. Now it is always clear when I am in - sluggish,
difficulty in maintaining focus, etc.
If I have the repeat procedure in August, is it your experience that I
may have a better chance of improvement, i.e., full time NSR? For now I
am feeling optimistic. I have been in NSR for 3 days.
