similar position - I've seen improvements from my first ablation but AF
is still rearing it's ugly head. I understand your reluctance for a
second procedure and I agree it's certainly something that should be
done by a competent EP. Almost 1 in 4 ablatees require a second
procedure though and there is some logic in not being too aggressive on
the first one (there's a balancing act between ablating enough and
increasing the risk during the procedure - a cautious approach is
probably the wise one). I don't see my Doc until the end of the month
but if we decide a second procedure is on the cards I'll be putting my
name down for one. It's also worth bearing in mind that success rates
after the second procedure are higher than first procedures, so it's not
as if a second procedure is fighting a losing battle.
In for a penny in for a pound :)
