Andrew,
Have you considered trying another antiarrhythmic - one that is stronger? I was
placed on Sotalol (Betapace) after only two episodes. I have been afib free
for a year and a half. There is another - Dofetilide (sp?) but I don't know if
you can obtain it where you live.
Do you know what your triggers are? Mine is drinking ice cold beverages or ice
cream. Since I am avoiding these and taking the Sotalol, I am in nsr. I had an
awful virus this past month and still didn't go into afib. Other triggers are
sleeping on your left side, caffeine, pseudophedrine, alcohol, stress,
hypertension, and the list goes on. How is your b/p?
You can go to this new web site and learn more about afib and its triggers:

Good luck!
Loretta
