Ablation

Hi

I am new to this site so forgive me if I am asking a dumb question.

I have been diagnosed as having partial afib. My consultant has
prescribed me flecainide (100mg twice a day) which for the first 6
months worked well. More recently I have been getting the odd
breakthrough attack, lasting only a few mins, but may be once a day.

I have just seen my consultant again and he is now considering an
ablation procedure, the results of which he says have become more
encouraging and is therefore more confident of the success and
reduction of the procedure risks.

I am 42, reasonably healthy, married with a young son (2 year old)
and live in London.

I was wondering on readers' views whether having this procedure is
worth deferring until the attacks become too life-style debilitating
or one should just get on with it.

Grateful for any perspectives.

Thanks

Andrew
